Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli's innovative compositions for the concert stage, his well-crafted and deeply-felt scores for the studio and indie film worlds, and his skilled musical direction of artists from across the pop music spectrum have earned him a reputation as a musician with a collaborative spirit and a broad vision.

Anderson-Bazzoli's most recent release is Continent's End, a nine-song concert work for mezzo-soprano and piano on California poet and iconoclast Robinson Jeffers (1887-1962). Chosen as Critic's Choice by Opera News, the music "perfectly embodies with its unpredictable harmonic twists and turns and its mutli-tonality Jeffers' hyper-masculine, pantheistic, often erotic poetry." (Raphael's Music Notes) Gramophone further noted the composer "admirably doesn't follow in anyone's footsteps."

Anderson-Bazzoli was nominated for an Emmy Award at age twenty-one for his first professional film score: A Year to Remember on CBS News. He went on to provide innovative and potent scores for the Venezuelan thriller Ellipsis (Fox), the technology documentary Revolution OS (7th Art), and the Sundance Festival feature El Viento y El Agua (The Wind and the Water), a collaborative drama by the Igar Yala Collective of Panama. Anderson-Bazzoli has also served as copyist, music librarian, or orchestrator on over three hundred films and television shows, including Disney's Encanto, Top Gun: Maverick, and the recent blockbuster Inside Out 2.

As a conductor, Anderson-Bazzoli has worked with some of the world's top recording artists including Michael Bublé, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, and She & Him (Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward). He recently served as arranger/conductor for legendary Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) on his solo album Smalls Change with an all-star band and 80-piece orchestra. For the accompanying tour, Lukewarm Water Live, he conducted the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at New Orleans' Saenger Theater and the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, among others. He shared the stage with venerable artists such as Steve Lukather (Toto), Dweezil Zappa, Jack Black (Tenacious D), and Billy Idol.

Early in his career Anderson-Bazzoli worked with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, serving as editor and copyist for eminent Music Director and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen on his now classic LA Variations (1996), among other works. He also consulted on the orchestra's Filmharmonic series with renowned stage director Peter Sellars and provided program notes and pre-concert lectures.

Growing up in Pacific Grove, California, Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli began learning tuba at age eleven and went on to perform in regional honor bands and orchestras, including a formative summer in the Hidden Valley Youth Orchestra in nearby Carmel Valley, California, at age 16. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Tuba Performance from the University of California at Los Angeles where he studied with top studio musician Tommy Johnson (Jaws, Close Encounters). He continued his post-graduate studies in composition at UCLA with Ian Krouse and Roger Bourland and in film scoring with Hollywood legends David Raksin (Laura) and Henry Mancini (Breakfast at Tiffany's).

Anderson-Bazzoli is a proud member of the American Federation of Musicians and, from 2021 to 2024, served as President of the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Musicians Association. He was on the AFM negotiating team that recently won a historic contract victory with the major media studios, establishing brand new residual payments on made-for-streaming productions and setting important protections against the industry's use of A.I.

In 2022 Anderson-Bazzoli relocated from Los Angeles to Carmel, CA, with his wife Donna Eshelman, a neuromuscular therapist and choreographer.
