Board and Administration

Charles Schimmel, a native of California, is a graduate of Cal Poly (Crop Science) and UCLA's Anderson School (MBA). A lifelong devotee of classical music, he served on the Carmel Bach Festival board for 12 years and has been a board member of the Monterey Symphony since 2008. He has served, at various times through the years, as Treasurer, CFO, and Chair of the Personnel, Finance and Governance committees. He was also a member of the search committee that identified our new Music Director. Charles has spent his career investing in and managing the growing, packing, and marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables, in California, Arizona and Latin America. He brings broad and deep expertise in management and organizational design.
