Beth Zare
Beth Zare grew up in the Bay Area. She played with many local youth orchestras before she went to the University of Southern California, where she received a Bachelor of Music Degree in french horn performance. Her principal teachers were James Decker and Richard Todd. Beth played principal horn for eight years in Mexico City. In 1995, she returned to the Bay Area. She has been the third horn with the Monterey Symphony since 1997. She is also a member of Symphony Silicon Valley and San Francisco Opera Center Orchestra.
Beth is currently the Secretary-Treasurer of the Musicians Union and a member of the AFM Diversity Committee. When she isn't playing her horn she enjoys golf and billiards and lives in San Jose with two overactive German Shepherds and two unhappy cats.
