PLANNED GIVING

Planned giving presents opportunities to build the financial strength of the orchestra while enhancing one's own financial position.

There are a number of ways to plan your gift to the Monterey Symphony. Many of these could provide you or your estate with significant tax benefits and help meet other financial planning needs, while providing a very generous ultimate gift to the Symphony.

Any planned gift entitles you to join the Legacy Society, a very special group of friends who have included the Monterey Symphony in their estate plans.

Bequests

Leave your legacy by making a gift in your will to friends, family and charitable organizations. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to remember those you care about most.  If you plan to make a charitable gift by will, please think it through carefully. Then, meet with your attorney to discuss and update your will. Tell him or her exactly what you want to do. Be as clear as possible in describing what you want given to whom.

Let Us Know

We hope you'll tell us when you have named Monterey Symphony in your will. We would very much like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity.

The specific bequest language for Monterey Symphony is: "I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to Monterey Symphony [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."

If you prefer to remain anonymous, your gift will be kept completely confidential. But at the same time, recognition of your gift can encourage others to do the same. Whatever the case, we will honor your wishes, because we appreciate your support immensely. And, if you have any other specific requests for a bequest, please contact Michelle Lange, Director of Development, at 831-624-8511, ext. 201 or via e-mail at mlange@montereysymphony.org for assistance.
