Jane Orzel Principal
BassoonJane’s professional career as a bassoonist with the Monterey Symphony began twenty-one years ago. Jane has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University in Bassoon Performance and Journalism and a Master of Arts Degree in Music History from San Jose State University. Her musical engagements include the Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Civic Ballet, Eugene Opera Orchestra, Oregon Bach Festival, Santa Cruz Symphony, Santa Cruz Chamber Players, Carmel Bach Festival, Bayshore Lyric Opera, and Ensemble Monterey. Jane is the organist and music director at First United Methodist Church in Salinas and bassoon instructor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was one of the featured soloists for Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, and Bassoon in March 2006.
