 Vladimir
KhalikulovPrincipal Violist Vladimir’s viola career with the Monterey Symphony began in 1991 as a section violist. He became principal viola in 1995. Vladimir received a Master of Music Degree from Tashkent State Conservatory, a Doctorate in Viola Performance from Moscow State Conservatory, and did Post Doctorate Studies with the Borodin String Quartet. From 1971 to 1990, Vladimir’s musical experiences include being principal viola in the State Symphony Orchestra, Uzbekistan; Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater; State String Quartet; and third prize winner in the 1982 National Competition in the USSR. Vladimir has premiered four viola concertos in the USSR and one in California. He regularly perform as violist or violinist in orchestras, chamber music groups, and festivals in California, France, Germany and the former USSR. Return to the Roster |
