Phil Keen
Principal Trombone

Phil Keen has a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master’s degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Although currently a resident of Anaheim, Phil performs with the Riverside County Philharmonic, the Fresno Philharmonic and the Monterey Symphony. He has served as our principal trombone for more than thirteen years. Other venues he has performed at are Disneyland Entertainment, touring the country with The Make Believe Brass Quintet, Pacific Symphony and Opera Pacific and many other Southern California orchestras, bands, brass ensembles, ballet and opera companies. He has also recorded soundtracks for the major studios in Hollywood.

Currently, Phil maintains a private lesson studio where his students consistently place in honor groups. He is on the faculty at Vanguard University.
