 Alex
CamphousePrincipal Horn Monterey Symphony principal horn player Alex Camphouse has held this position since 2002. Alex was a section horn player in the orchestra for a few years prior to this. He is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He studied with noted horn players Bruce Roberts and Steven Gross. On two occasions, Alex left the back of the orchestra and sat in the soloist chair performing Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in March 2006 and Schumann’s Concertstuck in February 2007. Alex is also principal horn with the Marin Symphony Orchestra and a regular member of the Santa Cruz Symphony. He traveled with the San Francisco Symphony on its 2007 European tour and has performed with Symphony Silicon Valley, Opera San Jose, Fresno Philharmonic, Santa Rosa Symphony, and Modesto Symphony Orchestra. He lives in San Jose with his wife, flutist Laurie Camphouse, his daughter Addison, and two cats. Return to the Roster |
