Robin Bonnell
Principal Cello

Robin Bonnell is a life-long resident of Berkeley, California. He is the principal cellist of the Monterey Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, and Napa Valley Symphony; co-principal cellist of the New Century Chamber Orchestra; assistant principal cellist of the Santa Rosa Symphony; and a member of the Marin Symphony. He is also one of the most highly regarded musicians in Northern California and has performed in several chamber music ensembles.

In addition to classical music, he engages in recording of Jazz, New-Age, as well as commercial music. From 1999 to 2001, Robin was the conductor of the Golden Gate Philharmonic, a youth orchestra and gives numerous in-classroom demonstrations in public schools throughout the Bay Area. Robin was one of the musicians featured in the popular documentary entitled, “The Freeway Philharmonic.” Robin has been a performing member of the Monterey Symphony for nine years.
